Al-Saftawi Massacre
15 members of the Izz ad-Din al-Qassam Brigades, the military wing of the Islamic Resistance Movement "Hamas, " were martyred, and around fifty others were injured in an Israeli airstrike on the early morning of Monday, September 6, 2004. The airstrike targeted a scouting camp affiliated with Hamas in the Al-Saftawi area of Shuja'iya neighborhood, east of Gaza City. Simultaneously, tanks shelled the neighborhood, leading to intense clashes between the occupation forces and Palestinian fighters.
